In 1682 the King of France, Louis 14, moved to the suburbs of Paris, to the rural city of Versailles. A hunting lodge, transformed into the “Ch\u00e2teau de Versailles” or “Castle of Versailles”, a new residence for the Royal family, to escape the social unrest and disease of Paris. It was expanded until it became the property it is today.<\/p>\n
