The town of Queluz is close to the beaches of Cascais, the Sintra mountain range, the golf courses and 14 km from Lisbon.<br \/>\nIn the second half of the 18th century, one of the last phases of the Royal Palace of Queluz, during the reign of D. Maria I, was built, in front of the palace, but being part of the same architectural complex, the clock tower as well as the annex building for the royal guard, the administration house and the stables.<br \/>\nThe layout of the construction is attributed to Manuel Caetano de Sousa, considered by many like the last representative of the baroque national delay, that happened to the architects of the palace, Mateus Vicente and Jean Baptiste Robillion.<br \/>\nAttached to the clock tower, which has three plans and two registers, the first with a clock and the second with the bells topped by a bulbous dome, a building is developed in whose main fa\u00e7ade there are windows and doors of cut pediment.<br \/>\nIn the 1990s, the construction of the Pousada was carried out, and the original fa\u00e7ade was completely retained and the interior was deeply reformulated to meet the new needs.
