The Palace has two wings, the former Manueline convent of the Order of Saint Jerome and the wing built in the 19th century by King Fernando 2nd. These wings are surrounded by a third structure, which resembles an imaginary castle with round roads with merlons and battlements, watchtowers, an access tunnel and even a drawbridge.<br \/>\n King Fernando 2nd ordered the Parque da Pena to be planted around the Palace, in the style of romantic gardens, with winding paths, pavilions and stone benches punctuating the paths, as well as trees and other plants from the four corners of the world, taking advantage of the humid climate of the Sintra mountains and creating an exotic park with more than five hundred species.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fernandolopes.pt\/en\/horarios-precos-monumentos-museus-sintra\/\">Palaces and Monuments in Sintra<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Tours starting and ending in Sintra<\/h2>\n<div style='text-align:center;'><script>function loadScript(url, callback){var script=document.createElement('script');
