History of Vila Nova de Gaia

On the south bank of the Douro River lies Vila Nova de Gaia. Once a region of farms and vineyards, it gained importance over time and still houses the Port Wine Cellars.
Connected by the Dom Luís Bridge, it’s a short walk to the city of Porto.
